it was a nice relaxing Sunday… I was aware that back in 1960’s Verner Panton was experimenting with some injection-moulded plastic, in order to produce the very first single-form chair! He did it! From then on the Stacking chair became a design icon for our culture. The last 50 years you can see the chair to be part of any interior design set with its highly innovative form.
There was the point…
Our culture denies the undesigned, the unintended, the malfunction or disorder… in a moralistic cry avoids to juxtapose intention with unintention… planned with unplanned… our mass-media culture avoids to take the risk to disturb the image of a design icon.
So, that relaxing day, we took Panton for a walk… had breakfast in Broadway mrkt and photo-shooting at the unplanned abandoness of Hackney.
